I am Emilien Mottet, a hyperactive ultra-cyclist with a thirst for adventure and discovery. Traveling long, even very long distances by bike is my passion. In 2023, I made my mark by winning the Race Across France and the BikingMan Aura. But beyond titles and victories, what drives me is the journey itself: exploring the world, getting to know myself better, and testing my body and spirit against the challenges of each route. For me, each race is less a competition against other cyclists and more a personal quest for self-improvement. I place great importance on finishing each event, as that’s where my true pride lies. Riding my trusty BMC, I favor a minimalist approach, always aiming to travel as light as possible, even if it means sacrificing comfort.

My Ultra-Cycling Competition Calendar for 2024: Objectives and Ambitions
#

The year 2024 is shaping up to be exciting with a calendar full of big projects!

Race Across Paris 1000K - April 23
#

The start of my season will be marked by the Race Across Paris 1000K. This relatively flat course is ideal for my strengths as a rider. The late-day start poses a challenge: managing fatigue even before the race begins. My goal here is to optimize my performance while remaining attentive to my body and mind.

Race Across France 2500K - June 20
#

This is the Objective, a dream I am about to realize: traversing France from north to south, then from west to east. Passing through the Massif Central and heading to the Basque coast, I am eager to discover the Pyrenees. This rolling course seems to play to my advantage, but the challenge will be to manage a competition of more than 60 hours for the first time.

Races Pending
#

  • Biking Man Corsica: Currently on the waiting list, this race would ideally complete my schedule. The Biking Man races, with their complete autonomy and without assistance, are experiences I particularly enjoy.

Choices for End of July
#

  • BikingMan Aura: With a new course passing through Haute-Loire, Cantal, and Vercors, this race is very tempting.
  • Via Race and the TCR: Preselected for these two 4000 km races at the end of July, I must weigh the pros and cons, especially after the intense effort that will be the Race Across France 2500K.

Support and Partnerships
#

At the end of 2023, I sought the support of brands that are dear to me, and I hope to consolidate this support in 2024.

With determination!
